EA digital sale drops Battlefront 2 to $4.50, Titanfall 2 to $5 and Dragon Age: Inquisition to $8

A huge sale is underway on a number of digital PC games from EA, with prices tumbling across both Amazon and Origin. If pushed to pick a standout deal of the lot, then I’d easily choose Star Wars Battlefront 2 for $4.49. Now, to say the shooter has had a difficult time of it would be …

Massive EA sale drops Battlefront 2 to £4, Dragon Age: Inquisition to £8 and Titanfall 2 to £5

An EA sale is underway for today only at Amazon UK, where you can get many of the publisher's biggest releases for a pittance on PC.Leading the way is Star Wars: Battlefront 2 for £3.99. The shooter from a galaxy far, far away hasn't fared particularly well since release, what with loot box shenanigans, microtransaction woes and copious bugs. However, that price could be tempting enough just to try out the single-player campaign. In terms of sheer value for money, the best of the lot has to be the Dragon Age: Inquisition - Game of the Year Edition for £7.99. Along with the base game, you'll get the Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent and Trespasser DLC packs. Plus, you get an upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, along with both the Spoils of the Avvar and the Spoils of the Qunari items. Inquisition is nowhere near Origins, but it's still a solid BioWare fantasy RPG.Read more

Former lead Dragon Age writer David Gaider pens Dragon Age: Inquisition fanfiction

David Gaider, you may recall, left BioWare in 2016 after 17 years with the studio. Gaider worked on multiple series in his tenure, but he's best known for his work as lead writer on the Dragon Age games, all the way from Origins to Inquisition. A year before he left the studio, Gaider also parted ways with Dragon Age to move onto a new project. At the time, he said "it's hard to leave Dragon Age behind," and judging from the Dragon Age: Inquisition fanfiction Gaider just published on Medium, he could never truly leave it behind. The short story stars Dorian, one of the companions and romance options in Inquisition. In a preface, Gaider described the story as "pure fanfiction" and affirmed that, seeing as how he is no longer with BioWare, it shouldn't be treated as canon. Even so, it's well worth a read, whether you're a fan of Dragon Age, Dorian or just fantasy in general.Amazon Prime Day deals: see all the best offers right now!"This

Time Extend: Dragon Age: Inquisition

Welcome to the second guest article from Edge on PC Gamer, where we'll occasionally feature PC gaming-related articles from the long-running magazine's recent history. This was originally published in Edge 314 in December 2017, and is republished here with the Edge team's permission. Running a country is, we’re sure, a messy, awkward business and so, much of the time, is Dragon Age: Inquisition. Consider Skyhold, the game’s gradually restored mountaintop fortress that is the most obvious manifestation of your power as Inquisitor, but which often inspires a sense of helplessness, with companions, crafting stations, merchants, furnaces, wardrobes and gardens scattered throughout its courtyards and battlements. A hundred hours into the game, it is still possible to get lost while walking around your own seat of government – confusing the door to your quarters with the one to the war room, for example, or the stair to the great hall balcony with the one

Dragon Age: Inquisition’s Ending Was A Letdown

An old family friend used a phrase when he’d burnt out on something. He called it “Mallomar-ing.” When he was younger, a relative of his used to love Mallomar cookies. They are sickly sweet chocolate covered marshmallows, and he’d eat them at every opportunity. Eventually, they started making him sick, and soon after that he couldn’t even look at Mallomar, even though he’d once loved them. I’m not sure if I’ve Mallomar-ed Dragon Age: Inquisition. But I do think that I can no longer rely on this game as the comfort food it once was.
