NBA Live 08 bevat niet alleen de standaard kleine verbeteringen op het gebied van speler- en clubgegevens, graphics en geluid, ook zijn er nieuwe gameplayelementen aan het spel toegevoegd. Een belangrijke toevoeging zijn de Go To Moves. Dit zijn de kenmerkende acties die de topspelers beheersen. Veel topspelers in de NBA hebben een bepaalde actie waar ze in uitblinken en waarmee ze bijna niet te stoppen zijn.
