Product Description
In colony, each player constructs and upgrades buildings, while managing resources to grow their fledgling colony. In a clever twist, dice are used as resources, with each side/number representing a different resource. Some resources are stable, allowing them to be stored between turns, while others must be used right away. Buildings provide new capabilities, such as increased production, resource manipulation, and additional victory points. Using dice-as-resources facilitates a dynamic, ever-changing resources management mini-game while players work to earn victory points by adding building to their tableau on their way to victory.

Pros
- Plays and teaches quickly. Setup takes only minutes. Most people 'get' the rules quickly (though seeing how the different cards work together takes time). And, play time is fairly close to an hour, depending on how much "considering" the players take.
- Variety of buildings and strategies makes replay value high
- Solo game helps you find ideas and strategies... and is just fun. You play to see how many points you can generate.
- Excellent game design, even if you don't get the dice you wanted each turn, it is rare to have a turn when you have nothing you can do
- There is a "last ditch effort" move you can make to catch up to other players, so even while trailing you can still have a chance to catch up
Cons
- Certain cards and combinations of cards work together better than others
- Some of the specific cards have very specific rules... be sure you read the rules for each card before you use them in a game
- The "rich get richer" in the game, and it isn't unusual for someone to be way out ahead on both the number of dice they get each turn and points

Also with the amount of sets of cards you have, you can play with different cards that do different results, each game.
This allows the players multiple types of games, that start with the basic rules, but have a different style of game play.
It's also one of those games where, during turn orders, you may not get to chose first, second, third, and you get that tension in a game where you hope the opposing player doesn't take the resource you have been waiting for three turns for!
It has a steep learning curve, but playing with someone who has played it before, or watching one of those gaming channel do an explanation and/or run through, you will be familiar after the first game played.
The instructions are very clear, and in my opinion, well written, the explanations of what cards do and how to do them is explained as well in the rule book and on each card. There are also helpful variants of which types of cards to use if you want to play various levels of aggressive games.
Have fun rolling!
